Autism Centre
Academic Year 2025 - 2026
Welcome to Westover Green Community School and Autism Centre.
Placements are allocated by the Local Authority through the annual review process. We are only able to welcome visitors to the autism centre during after school hours in order to maintain a safe and calm environment for our learners.
The centre can cater for 16 children and has two classrooms, a sensory room, movement room, outdoor sensory garden and a kitchen area.
Children in the Autism Centre may at times access the main school for appropriate inclusion opportunities. The majority of children in the Autism Centre receive their full time education there. This is assessed according to individual needs.
Children are split broadly into EYFS / Key Stage 1 - Oak Class led by Mrs A Catley who is a highly experienced Early Years Teacher with a wealth of established practice. Key Stage 2 - Ash Class is led by Mr S Gilborson who has over five years of specialist teaching experience. Teachers work closely with the fantastic team of Mrs Costick, Miss Foster, Mrs Hawkins, Mrs Western, Mrs Rason, Mrs Roberts, Miss Stephens and Mrs Vernon across the setting and according to pupil need.
